Let's admit it, traveling with kids on an airplane can be overwhelming. In a restricted space trying to keep the noise to a minimum can be tricky. Most parents can agree that screen time is a major asset in this situation. I am going to give you the most helpful apps that I have used with my own family. These apps keep them engaged and entertained on even the longest flights. In traveling full time with kids, I like to take every opportunity that I can to be a learning experience. It's great for the kids and reduces my screen time guilt. Win win.


ABC Mouse
This app is geared towards children ages 2-8. Most people have heard of this program but if you have never tried it for yourself, you won't realize everything it has to offer. It keeps your child entertained with coloring sheets, videos, songs, games, etc.. They can even have pets that they care for. ABC Mouse it designed in a way that anything they choose to do in the program is teaching them something no matter how much fun it is. 


Skybrary
I you loved Reading Rainbow with LeVar Burton as much as I ideas a child, you will really appreciate this app. Skybrary is a digital children's library full of interactive books and video explorations hosted by LeVar Bruton. There are so many topics and stories to choose from. This app will save you from dragging a bunch of physical children's books with you that will only add to your already heavy load.

If you love the idea of your children learning about the solar system in a very detailed and interactive way, then you will love this app. Space is so fascinating to me and I want my children to get a real feel and understanding of it. With this app they can explore planets, stars, satellites, etc... within this 3D model. It's amazing and you can get lost along with your kids in your own space adventure.

This app is especially fun for traveling kids or ones who want to travel one day. It's an interactive globe with moving pictures and facts about different countries and cultures all over the world. They learn a lot in a way that is very entertaining and keeps them engaged. They can literally spin the globe and choose a location. 


Amazon Video
Since 64% of US households have Amazon Prime memberships, it just makes sense to take advantage of the amazing video options that come with it. Download the Amazon Videos apt your tablet and choose from the many educational series that they have created for kids. if you know that you won't have access to wifi, you have the option of downloading shows directly to your device to watch later.
